Odds Out of Ends and Summer Redux

Odds Out of Ends
Last Sunday, Philip put something shiny, small, and metal in his mouth. I tried to remove the object, but the little bugger bit me, and when I took my fingers out of his mouth, he quickly swallowed and stowed his new possession safely in his under-rib compartment. The metal object was a piece off the end of a necklace that Alison left temptingly at ground level. Good news, though...after a two-day journey, that piece of necklace saw daylight. This incident does make me wonder what other objects Phil has eaten. Maybe Phil should eat some petroleum jelly, like James did once, just to keep his inside track slippery.

Summer Redux
The summer weather returned to our area again, but like having money in Illinois, it did not last long. This weekend was much cooler than the 80/90 degree weather I hated earlier in the week. However, my children and Mike have decided summer has come and is here to stay. Therefore, Alison ran around barefoot with temps in the 40s while playing Frisbee with James, and Mike mowed the lawn and took a moment to ponder the mini-wonder of our sump-pump hose trench.
As a concession to cease my nagging, they did wear their jackets outside.
